Church Letter Jan 2016

Download this Church letter Dear Friends,

At the start of this New Year we are thankful to God for His protection over us for another year. We enter this year as the 27th of our travelling to Romania with aid. We remember all the difficulties we had over the early years and how many things have changed. However, we remember that God’s protection has been evident over those years and He has been faithful as He promises to those who follow Him.

Despite some holdups at the borders due to the bombings in Paris the trips in November and December last year went well.

These are a few of the places we visited as we travelled 1600 miles around Romania:-
We met with the social workers from Casa Grace in Oradea and with some of the families who are being supported by people from South Wales. Some families are going through difficult times with their health as well as financially. There are new families needing sponsorship.
It was good to see progress on the new Emanuel Hospice building and hope that the basement will be finished within the next few months. We have raised over £40,000 for this new building.
We spent time with Ciprian Bogdan, a pastor to the Gypsy community, who is building a new church (the old one is too small). He is a busy man with three young daughters, but has a heart for the Lord and was excited when telling us about recent conversions in his church.
We also spent time in Suceava with a group called Iochebed who are working to prevent abortions. Last year 50 babies were saved from abortion. The mothers cannot afford to feed and clothe the babies as salaries are so low and very little contraception is used as it is so expensive. Iochebed promises the new mums that if they keep their babies the group will help with baby milk, nappies, clothes and food. We took baby milk, nappies and some clothes, for which they were very grateful.
Pontypridd Rugby Club gave us 100 chairs which we had cleaned and we delivered them to a new Christian School in Lugoj, Romania.

We have listed the projects which we are supporting. All cheques payable to SUPPORT FOR ROMANIA. If you are able to make a regular donation you can do so by standing order. Please request a form from us. Please let us know if you are able to Gift Aid your donation.

Our next trip will leave on Tuesday 5th April and will be our 154th, taking 2 vehicles with 4 drivers. You can bring donated items to our depot in Llanishen on 7th, 14th March (9am-1 pm) and 21st March (9 am-5pm). We plan to be back in Cardiff on 19th April. Please remember the trip in your prayers.

Easter in the UK March 27th: Easter in Romania May 1st

With Christian love,
Alan & Ann Penrose (on behalf of the Trustees)
